Meet the Library: One Home for Your Widgets and Skills
Custom widgets and AI skills have become the fastest-growing part of LamaTrader. As your collection grows, it needs a proper home. Today it gets one: the Library, a single page where everything you have built — and everything we ship ready-made — lives together.
Everything in One Place
Open Tools → Library and you get two tabs: Widgets and Skills. Every card shows the name, description, and tags, sorted by most recently updated. Finding things is instant:
- Search across names, descriptions, and tags
- Filter by status: active, disabled, or all
- Filter by source: things you built, or factory items we ship
- Filter by tag to slice your collection by theme — risk, market data, whatever taxonomy you have grown
Factory Widgets and Skills: Ready on Day One
The Library introduces factory widgets and skills: ready-made ones that come with LamaTrader. A market clock widget, a position-size calculator skill, with more on the way.
Factory items are yours to build on: clone one and the copy lands in your library, fully editable in the builders. Not interested in one? Hide it. Your library shows what you actually use.
Try Before You Add
Every widget in the Library can be previewed live, running against real data, before it ever touches a dashboard. You can also open the code view to see exactly what a widget does. Happy with it? Add it to a dashboard directly from the card — pick the dashboard and it lands there, no builder round-trip required.
Skills get the same treatment: preview what a skill does, copy its code, or jump straight into the Skills Builder to refine it.
Trust Levels: You Decide What Runs Freely
Widgets and skills execute code, and the Library makes the control explicit. Every item carries a trust level:
- Untrusted — not yet reviewed; requires your explicit confirmation before it executes
- Provisional — partially reviewed; runs, but flags its trust status
- Trusted — reviewed and approved; runs without extra confirmation
New AI-generated items start untrusted. You promote them when you have reviewed what they do. Factory items ship trusted. It is the same review-first philosophy behind Code Mode, now applied uniformly to everything in your library.
Enable, Disable, Keep
Retiring a widget no longer means deleting it. Toggle any item between active and disabled: disabled items stay in your library, out of the way, ready to re-enable next time the strategy comes back around. Seasonal setups, experiments, backups of working versions — keep them all.
Getting Started
Open the Library from the Tools section in the sidebar. If you have built widgets or skills before, they are already there, searchable and organized. If you haven't, clone a factory item and make it yours — it is the fastest way to a first custom widget.
