Welcome to Lama Trader. By using our platform, you agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Nature of Service

Lama Trader is a trading frontend application. We do not provide brokerage, clearing, or custodial services.

All trading execution, settlement, and account custody are provided by our underlying brokerage partner - Alpaca Securities LLC (dba "Alpaca Clearing"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of AlpacaDB, Inc. You must maintain an active Alpaca account to use Lama Trader.

2. Eligibility

Users must be of legal age in their jurisdiction and maintain an account with a supported brokerage partner to access Lama Trader.

3. No Financial Advice

Lama Trader provides tools, dashboards, analytics, and integrations. We do not provide investment advice, recommendations, or endorsements of any securities, cryptocurrencies, or financial instruments.

This applies equally to output produced by AI features. AI-generated analysis, summaries, strategies, code, and any examples shown in the platform or on this website are for informational and illustrative purposes only and must not be treated as investment advice or recommendations.

4. AI Features

Lama Trader includes AI-assisted features, including chat, strategy generation ("Code Mode"), skills, and widget generation.

AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or wrong. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated content — including strategy code, skills, and widgets — before running it or acting on it.
Any order placed from your account, including orders constructed or initiated by AI-generated code that you approved, is your responsibility.
AI features rely on third-party model providers that you select and configure (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, DeepSeek, Qwen, or a local Ollama model). Their availability, quality, and terms are outside our control, and your use of them is subject to their respective terms.
Where you supply your own API keys for AI providers, you are responsible for those keys and any charges the provider bills you.

5. User-Created Widgets and Skills

Lama Trader lets you create, generate, clone, and run custom widgets and skills.

You are responsible for the content and behaviour of widgets and skills you create, generate, import, or run.
Trust levels are labels you assign to manage your own confirmation preferences. They are not a review, endorsement, or security guarantee by Lama Trader.
We may remove or disable user-created content that we reasonably believe is harmful or violates these terms.

6. Market Data and Notifications

Market data, quotes, borrow status, locate quotes, and other information displayed in the platform are supplied by third parties. Such data may be delayed, incomplete, interrupted, or inaccurate, and is provided without warranty.

Notifications (including real-time order and trade updates) are provided on a best-effort basis. Delivery and timeliness are not guaranteed, and notifications may be delayed or missed. Do not rely solely on platform notifications for trading decisions; the authoritative record of your orders and positions is your brokerage account.

7. Fees

Brokerage, regulatory, borrow, and locate fees are set and charged by your broker under its own fee schedule. Locate fee quotes shown in Lama Trader are advisory; the final fee is determined by the broker at approval time, and locate fees are typically non-refundable. Review your broker's fee schedule and disclosures before trading.

8. Paper Trading

Paper trading is a simulation. Simulated fills, performance, and results do not reflect actual trading and are not indicative of future results in a live account.

9. Third-Party Services

Lama Trader is not responsible for outages, delays, or errors in underlying brokerage services or any other third-party services.

10. Limitation of Liability

Lama Trader is not liable for trading losses, missed opportunities, or financial damages incurred from the use of our platform, including losses connected to AI-generated output, user-created widgets or skills, data inaccuracies, or delayed or missed notifications.
